'Zanna' is an HCPC Practitioner Psychologist, BPS Chartered Counselling Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the BPS. She completed a BSc (Hons) in Psychology at Manchester University in 2004 and a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at City University London in 2014.
She has worked in the field of mental health since 2009 and has offered psychological therapy to adults with a range of mental health concerns and relationship challenges. Her clinical experience spans primary and secondary care NHS mental health settings and a number of private practices and hospital health care settings with adults experiencing physical health difficulties. She set up her own private practice in 2018 and now runs a busy full-time practice.
Alongside clinical work, Zanna has a special interest in supporting the wellbeing and development of healthcare practitioners and therapists. She has worked with trainee psychologists since 2018 and was a trainee therapist mentor with Pink Therapy in 2022-2023. Zanna authored a chapter in ‘Relationally Queer: A Pink Therapy Guide for Practitioners’, published in 2023; and previously presented on topics such as 'The importance of empathy when consulting patients' to junior medical doctors, and 'Considerations for Couples Therapists when working with Ex-Boarders and Partners' to counselling professionals. She became a Co-Tutor for the Diploma in Compulsive Sexual Behaviour for CICS in 2023, and Lead Tutor in 2024.
Over the past 20 years she has completed a number of CPD trainings across the areas of coaching, individual therapy and relationship therapy. Some recent training includes a year-long training on Relationship Psychotherapy with NAOS in 2019, a Diploma in Compulsive Sexual Behaviour with CICS in 2020 and Internal Family Systems L1-3 with IFSUK in 2022-2024. She attended additional Supervision workshops in 2023 including The Queer 7-Eye Model of Supervision and gained Pink Therapy Advanced Accreditation the same year.
Having completed an Introduction to Art Therapy in 2006 and a Foundation in Art & Design at Camberwell College of Arts in 2008, Zanna has a continued special interest in the creative arts and therapeutic practice. This has developed through continued personal practice and attending trainings such as ‘Advanced Nature-Based Expressive Arts Therapy: Healing Trauma and Grief through Nature’, and most recently, IFS informed intuitive drawing, ‘Drawing into Self’ in 2024. This area of interest intersects with Zanna’s interest in community psychology and ways that psychology and therapeutic ideas can be taken outside the clinic or classroom. She has collaborated with other healthcare professionals to facilitate community retreat days and run community workshops that focus on nature-based therapeutic art practices. She has also spoken on other topics that reach different communities such as 'The use of CBT within the context of physical health diagnoses' to parents.
